Joy Williams signed a recording contract with Reunion Records (a division of Sony/BMG music) at age 17 after declining several offers at age 14 in order to finish high school. From 2000-2005, she built a following by touring extensively and releasing three records: a self-titled debut (2001), By Surprise (2002), and Genesis (2005). To date, the three releases have sold over 250,000 copies worldwide. Earlier this year Williams' song "Charmed Life," which she co-wrote with TOT founder Trent Dabbs, was featured for over 2 minutes during the opening scene of the "Grey's Anatomy" season 5 finale.
